Nutrient content
Miljøservice can supply both wood-ash and straw-ash. It’s often bottom-ash. Bottom-ash differs from fly-ash, as bottom-ash consists of the heavier fraction that settles at the base of the combustion chamber, while fly-ash is captured from the flue gas stream. Bio-ash (from straw or wood chips) typically has an “ash-like” granular consistency, making it easy to handle with standard equipment and suitable for even land application.

Information
The ash is applied to agricultural land according to the guidelines of the Bio ash Executive Order. Wood ash may be used by organic farmers. It is an almost 100% dry but shovel able product. It is a good potassium fertilizer.
We deliver—by agreement with you—often to a transfer depot in the field, after which you are usually responsible for the spreading.
Since practical handling can vary from plant to plant, there may be differences in the physical product and therefore also in the application rates.
The ash is produced by burning straw and wood/chips in power plants. Phosphorus and potassium are retained in the bottom ash, which gives the product good fertilizing value.
Nationwide Delivery
Miljøservice operates across the entire country and has a wide range of leased storage facilities strategically located near treatment plants and spreading areas. Miljøservice’s fertilizer products also originate locally, minimizing transport and ensuring the lowest possible climate footprint. In addition, phosphorus is especially substituted, which would otherwise need to be imported from distant countries.
How to Proceed
You can contact Miljøservice by phone, email, or through our website.
Based on the information you provide, Miljøservice will prepare a delivery agreement and delivery notice, including field number, area size in hectares, expected delivery time, and a field map. We will also provide details on the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, along with suggestions for supplementary commercial fertilizer. You can contact us—or we will contact you—when the spreading time approaches.
